On 13 September 2003, the Resource Centre at the Chinese Heritage Centre was named “Wang Gungwu Library” in recognition of Professor Wang’s scholarship and significant contribution to the field of Chinese Overseas Studies.   Professor Tommy Koh, the immediate past chairman of the Chinese Heritage Centre Council, and Mr Wee Cho Yaw, the founding chairman of the Centre, jointly officiated at the naming ceremony. The Library which houses mainly resources on ethnic Chinese overseas subjects, has also benefited from Professor Wang’s generous donation.  The 30,000 items in this library is being entered into NTU’s Library on-line database, Library Catalogue, in phases. The first phase of upgrading has been completed. Users of the library can look forward to more space, and for the first time, members of NTU library are eligible to borrow non-reference material from the Wang Gungwu library. Anyone who wishes to consult the materials can make enquiries by calling: (65) 6513 8682 or by e-mail.
