The Centre Library has benefited substantially from Professor Wang Gungwu's donation of his 20,000-volume collection on the history and culture of the Chinese, including the Chinese Overseas. Other scholars have donated smaller personal or family collections to the Library. The current focus of the library's acquisition program includes Chinese genealogical records, clan association publications, and documents relating to the former Nanyang University.
